I was listening to KPFA today. THey've got a real nutjob on called The visionary Activist. I had to wait until the vend ofr teh program vto find ut if it was a man or woman! it's a woman, by the way...sort of.
She said that we can't drill in Alaska for oil because it would destory the planet by opening up disease vectors. What???????????????????????????

That is weird. In epidemiology a vector is a carrier of a pathogen, such as a mosquito that carries malaria, or a flea that carries plague. I don't listen to KPFA very often but when I do it usually seems like a comedy show, not the serious news and issue programming they want to be.
